DTF TRANSFER GUIDE
WHAT IS A DTF TRANSFER?
DTF—Direct to Film—is a process that prints full-color artwork onto a special film, adds adhesive powder, and cures the design so it can be heat-pressed onto a compatible garment or fabric item. It works especially well for colorful logos, fine details, gradients and artwork that would require many colors with traditional screen printing.
Order separate, ready-to-press copies of your design in the exact dimensions you need. This is a practical choice for left-chest logos, shirt fronts, sleeves, labels and repeat designs.
Place multiple designs, names, sizes or copies onto one larger sheet to use the available print area efficiently. Gang sheets are ideal when you have several designs or want to press items as orders arrive.
Choose apparel supplied by Written Brand Studio or bring/mail compatible garments of your own. We prepare the artwork, produce the transfer and professionally apply it in the approved placement.
Already own a heat press? We can print, cure, trim and prepare your transfers for pickup or shipping so you can apply them to your own clothing and products.
ARTWORK & FILE PREPARATION
- Transparent-background PNG or SVG artwork is preferred.
- High-resolution files produce the cleanest edges and details.
- We review sizing, transparency, small text and print quality before production.
- Artwork cleanup or graphic-design support can be requested when needed.
WHAT DTF CAN GO ON
- Cotton, polyester and many cotton/poly blends.
- T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, totes and other compatible fabric items.
- Some specialty fabrics, coatings and heat-sensitive materials require testing.
- Final compatibility is confirmed before we press customer-supplied garments.
